South Africa, as the international gateway into Botswana, provides many opportunities for a pre- or post- Botswana holiday. Many visitors travel to Botswana via Johannesburg (there are daily services to Gaborone and Maun and regular services to Francistown, Kasane, Limpopo (for the Tuli Block) and Victoria Falls).

A new service has started linking Cape Town with Gaborone (South African Express) and Maun (Air Botswana). A short stay in Cape Town, one of the fabled and beautiful cities in the world, before travelling onto Botswana, is highly recommended.

There are many airlines currently flying into Cape Town including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, South African Airways and Malaysian Airlines.
