Travel Services in Southern Africa

Accommodation costs vary considerably. Small guest houses in major centres cost anything from $40 to $80. Lodge accommodation in prime areas such as the Okavango Delta usually operate on a fully inclusive basis and range from $250 to nearly $2,000 per person per night. In stop-over places like Maun, accommodation in simply furnished tents can be booked for about $30 upwards.

Internal air transfers vary from $50 (scheduled one way to Kasane from Maun) to $120 for single transfers between camps and lodges in the Okavango Delta. We also book tickets on scheduled services on Air Botswana linking Maun, Gaborone, Kasane, Limpopo (Tuli Block), Francistown. Charter flights can also be booked for travel between major centres or to specific bush locations.

International flights can also be booked on sectors from Livingstone, Zambia to Johannesburg or from Victoria Falls to Johannesburg and Gaborone.

An average price for a fully inclusive tented safari is $250 per person per day, assuming there is a minimum of four people in the group. A 5-day tented safari to the Kalahari, for 4 people or more, costs about $1350. Longer safaris, such as a 10-day fully inclusive tented safari to the northern region of Botswana, cost approximately $2,000 per person. A luxury safari to the Moremi Game Reserve and highlights of the Okavango costs $2500 for 7 days.

On a smaller scale, we also offer one day cultural tours (about $170 including lunch), one day mokoro trips into the Eastern Delta, shorter trips into the Moremi Game Park and scenic trips by Cessna or helicopter over the Delta.

Specialised safaris (such as hunting and bird safaris) can also be booked through us.

At our office in Maun, through our partner company at PostNet, we offer a range of services for tourists – from courier, telephone and fax, broadband internet café, postcards and stamp sales to small locally made crafts. We can also ship goods to any destination in the world by sea or air.

We can also store luggage for you at our office in Maun. This is a useful service for those going into the Delta by light aircraft (where luggage restrictions allow only 12 kg per passenger). Charges are $10 per item per day.

We are official agents for Budget car rental and can arrange your car hire needs. We also have 4 x 4 vehicles to rent – charges are approximately $200 a day excluding insurance.
